Mr Ravelo... i have a question for you... I see all these studies you do... I am trying to do sth similar... and wonder if it will lead to improvement. Do all the studies (from life and photos and books) help you draw things without reference more easily? Or do they only improve your painting technique and portrait drawing...
Absolutely! It's never a bad idea to draw/paint from life. When you do studies you build a mental library of things and later when you want to draw something imagined all those tidbits you remember from your studies will help you in the long run.
